The Formula 1 class at Indy RC continues to grow. Its an "All Tamiya" class. See the rule section. Tires are key.
Our hobby shop is located upstairs so that we can maximize our floor area downstairs. Great view of racing from upstairs too!
Racers gather just prior to the start of a race. Typically, we run heats then go into the mains later in the night.

Recently, new walls barriers (blue) were put up along with impact absorbing cove base around the perimeter.
Its a Short Course world in R/C these days. The durability of trucks and jumping them during races has attracted many new racers and won over long-time racers.
R/C racing is not "boy stuff" by any means. The female crowd is just as competitve as the male crowd...despite what the male crowd will try to tell you! :)
F1 Racer ready to roll!
Sometimes, it is really hard to get photos of the cars racing... speeds are way too high!

The final result of one of the greatest VTA races in recorded history! Houston and Brian were on each other virtually the entire race! In the end, Brian wouldn't pass unless he could do it cleanly. So, he came in second. But, after they crossed the finish line, Houston let off the gas...
Walt's beauty new PROTOForm Camaro with lime green metallic paint. Ready to run in USGT class!
This is an incredible paint job by RockStar Paint! Check it out, the weathering and graphics are just outstanding! Javelin for Vintage Trans Am racing!
John is also running one of the RockStar Paints weathered bodies. Just too cool! The picture doesn't do it justice.
This Vintage Trans Am racer has been around the track a few times you can tell, but the orange 1969 Camaro body still looks good on the racetrack. Mounted on Scott's TC3 chassis.

Vintage Trans Am cars preparing for a upcoming heat.
Vintage Trans Am cars start their races in this manner. Each car in VTA is based upon the classic muscle cars of the 60's and 70's. Chassis can be just about anything. All cars run Novak 25.5 motors and 5000 mah max batteries. Tires are the same too.
John working on his "General Lee" VTA car.
Better photo of John's General Lee Challenger. The real General Lee is a Charger, but they don't make a Charger body for that class. Note his custom detailed/painted wheels.
David and Buddy having a good time on a Friday night of racing.
